Philip Laffin started out in business in 1980 as a sole trader covering aspects of welding, maintenance and fabrication in Redruth and nearby villages. After making the decision to specialise in stainless steel he built up a very reliable skilled workforce making bespoke staircases, balustrades and balconies for clients, as well as providing a fabrication and maintenance program for Cornish food processors and the tourism and leisure industry. The company became limited in 2003 and currently has 2 directors and 9 employees covering Redruth, Falmouth, Truro, Newquay, St. Austell, Bodmin, Camborne, Hayle, St. Ives, Penzance, Lands End and all surrounding areas.

 
         
 
 
 
 
         
 

Fabricating and fitting tailor-made items to specific requirements in stainless steel and aluminium. Cutting and folding materials. Rolling and bending tube, bars, flats and angles. We have 2 specialist CNC machines for cutting and folding materials which give an accurate cut or fold, a rolling machine which can accurately roll any metal to a desired profile and a tube grinding machine which can grind a diameter and/or shape of tube accurately and efficiently to the desired angle.

Particular workshop employees are certified to use counterbalance lift trucks, hold a PASMA certificate of competence in the category of scaffold tower erection, have successfully completed a Health and Safety at Work course and hold emergency first aid and 3 day first aid at work certificates, some also having a certificate of competent management and competence for inspection of electrical equipment.

A member of the management team holds a NEBOSH certificate - (National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety) – NGC, 1, 2, & 3 as well as numerous other highly respected qualifications.
